Focus and scope
The Semi-Arid Journal of Academic Research and Development is multidisciplinary, covering all-encompassing research domains such as agriculture, earth and environment, physical and mathematical sciences, chemical and biological sciences, arts and social sciences, engineering and geomatics. Publication frequency
SJARD is published biannually, in June and December. The maiden edition, Volume 1, Number 1, was published in December 2017 with eleven articles.
Article processing charges
- Submission: free of charge
- Processing and vetting fee: ₦5,000

Plagiarism screening
Manuscripts are screened for plagiarism and self-plagiarism using Turnitin. Depending on the level of originality and similarity with other documents, the managing editor will decide whether to reject the manuscript immediately, contact the authors for further clarification, or proceed to peer review.
Manuscript submission
Prepare your manuscript in MS Word following the author guidelines, then submit it online together with a scanned copy of your evidence of payment of the processing fee. Authors will be informed of the decision on their manuscript within two to four weeks of submission. Following acceptance, a paper will normally be published in the next issue.
